if you ever have used smiple hook hangers for lets say a chain lamp.

your problem maybe solved. just place the hook hangers where you would like them and screw them in place then you can attach the canopy with no problems

First you need three round curtain rods with the clip in hangers that go with them. Hang the first one a foot or so above the bed at the head. The second on the ceiling in line with the first rod and about 6 inches from the wall. The third rod should be above the foot of the bed, again on the ceiling. These rods are only about 1/2 inch in dimension. Get several of her favorite colors of ribbon about 4 inches wide and about 4 yards long. Make a loop about 2 inches wide at one end of the ribbon and stitch by hand or machine This first loop hangs on the rod on the wall, down low.measure up about 6 and 1/2 feet and make a similar loop, and put it over the second rod. Do it again near the end of the ribbon and put it on the third rod. You can cut it in a pretty point or soft loop.or hang little bells on the ends, or even tassels. Repeat until you like the look, leaving several inches between each ribbon. Could be anywhere from 5 to 7 ribbons. Let them drape a little between the 2nd and 3rd rod. It will give it a canopy look and be unique. I did this for one of my daughters and she loved it. Her bedspread was a deep cranberry satin, and the ribbons were from deep red to pale pinks and back to the deep red on the other side. We put small bells at the top end, that would tinkle in a breeze. She loved the sound in the summer. Good luck, with whatever you find to do.

Use fishing line(extra strong) to position the canopy. Hang the canopy from the ceiling using clear fasteners. You may want to use a fancy large hook(placed in the center) to hold the bulk of the weight depending on the material.
